1.10 疔疽

정저

Firm Cellulitis

1 發於足上下, 名曰四淫. 其狀大癰, 不急治之, 百日死.

발등과 발바닥에 생긴 것을 사음(四淫)이라고 한다. 크게 옹이 생기는데, 급히 치료하지 않으면 100일 만에 죽는다.

When it forms on the dorsum of the foot and the soles, it is called the four excesses (四淫). A big abscess forms, which could kill a person in 100 days if not treated at once.

2 發於足傍, 名曰厲疽. 其狀不大, 初從小指發, 急治之, 去其黑者. 不消輒益, 不治, 百日死.

발 옆에 생긴 것을 여저(厲疽)라고 한다. 그 모양은 크지 않다. 처음에는 새끼발가락부터 생기는데, 급히 치료하여 검은 것을 제거해야 한다. 검은 것이 사라지지 않으면 곧 심해져서 치료하지 못하고 100일 만에 죽는다.

When it forms on the sides of the foot, it is called a serious abscess (厲疽). It is not big. It forms first on the little toe, and in such case it must be treated at once by removing the black thing. When the black thing doesn't disappear, the condition deteriorates at once and it cannot be treated, and one dies in 100 days.

3 發於足指, 名曰脫疽. 其狀赤黑者, 死不治, 不赤黑者, 不死. 治之不衰, 急斬之, 否則死. 《靈樞》

발가락에 생긴 것을 탈저(脫疽)라고 한다. 그 모양이 검붉게 되면 치료하지 못하고 죽는다. 검붉지 않으면 죽지 않는다. 치료해도 병세가 쇠퇴하지 않으면 급히 잘라내어야 하는데, 그렇게 하지 않으면 죽는다. 《영추》

When it forms on the toes, it is called gangrene (脫疽). When it turns dark red, it cannot be treated and one dies. When it isn't dark red, one doesn't die. When the symptoms do not seem to be alleviated, it must be removed at once. Otherwise, the patient dies. 《靈樞》

4 膏粱之變, 足生大丁. 《內經》

기름진 음식이 변하여 발에 대정(大丁)이 생긴다. 《내경》

Greasy foods develop into a large deep-rooted boil (大丁) on the foot. 《內經》

5 疔瘡初發, 突起如釘盖, 故謂之疔. 近世多見, 因食自死牛馬禽獸之肉而發, 或感襲天地暴沴之氣而發, 或恣食辛辢厚味積毒而發. 其形有十三1種, 治法皆同. 初起僅一小瘡, 殺人於一二日之內, 比之癰疽尤毒, 又有紅絲疔, 魚臍疔, 其毒尤甚. 《入門》

정창(疔瘡)은 초기에 못대가리처럼 튀어나오기 때문에 정(疔)이라고 한다. 요즈음 많이 보이는데, 저절로 죽은 소나 말이나 금수의 고기를 먹어서 생기거나, 갑자기 나쁜 기를 받거나 맵고 기름진 음식을 지나치게 먹어 독이 쌓여 생긴다. 그 형태는 13종이 있지만 치료법은 모두 같다. 초기에 작은 창이 겨우 하나 생기지만 1～2일 내에 사람을 죽이니 옹저보다 더 독하다. 홍사정(紅絲疔)ㆍ어제정(魚臍疔)의 독이 더욱 심하다. 《입문》

A newly formed furuncle (疔瘡) protrudes like a nailhead and thus it is called a deep-rooted boil (疔). It often occurs these days and is caused by the accumulation of toxins due to eating naturally dead cows, horses, or birds and beasts, or suddenly contracting bad qi, and having too much pungent and greasy food. There are 13 kinds but the treatment method is the same. In the early stages, only a single little sore forms, but it kills people in 1-2 days, making it more malignant than abscesses. The toxins that cause the red thready boil (紅絲疔) or cutaneous anthrax (魚臍疔) are more severe. 《入門》

6 疔瘡發無定處, 在手足頭面胸背骨節間最急, 其餘處爲緩. 《正傳》

정창은 생기는 곳이 일정하지 않다. 손발ㆍ머리ㆍ얼굴ㆍ가슴ㆍ등ㆍ관절에 생기는 것이 제일 위험하고, 나머지는 병세가 완만하다. 《정전》

1.10.1 疔疽形證

정저의 형증

The Symptoms of Firm Cellulitis

1 疔疽生黃疱, 中或紫黑色. 初發必先痒後痛, 先寒後熱, 四肢沈重, 頭痛, 心驚, 眼花. 若大重則嘔逆爲難治. 《三因》

정저일 때는 누런 수포가 생기는데, 그 속은 자흑색을 띠기도 한다. 초기에는 반드시 먼저 가렵다가 아프게 되고 먼저 추웠다가 열이 나며, 사지가 무겁게 가라앉고 머리가 아프며, 가슴이 두근거리고 눈에 꽃이 보인다. 몹시 심해져 구역질이 나면 치료하기 어렵다. 《삼인》

In firm cellulitis, yellow vesicles form and the insides may turn purplish black. In the early stages, it will surely cause pain after itching, a fever after chills, heavy limbs, headaches, fright palpitations, and dizziness accompanied by blurry vision. When it becomes severe and causes vomiting, it is difficult to treat. 《三因》

2 瘡頭黑硬如釘, 四畔帶赤如火, 盤根突起, 隨變焦黑, 未幾腫大而光, 轉爲濕爛, 深孔透肌如大鍼穿之狀. 《入門》

창두(瘡頭)는 못처럼 검고 단단하며, 그 주위는 불타는 것처럼 벌겋고 뿌리가 넓게 튀어나오는데, 곧 검게 변한다. 얼마 지나지 않아 크게 붓고 번들거리다가 습하게 짓물러 큰 침으로 뚫은 것처럼 살에 깊은 구멍이 생긴다. 《입문》

The protrusion of the sore (瘡頭) is black, is as hard as a nail, and the area around it turns red as if burning, and the root bulges out widely, which turns black at once. Before long it swells a lot, becomes glossy due to festering, and deep holes form in the flesh as if digged into with a big acupuncture needle. 《入門》

3 外證, 心驚頭痛, 拘急惡寒, 四肢痛强, 或寒熱交作, 頰舌間赤黑, 點點如珠. 《直指》

외증은 가슴이 두근거리고 머리가 아프며, 몸이 오그라들고 오한이 나며, 사지가 아프고 뻣뻣하거나 한열이 교대로 생기며, 뺨과 혀 부위가 검붉게 되고 구슬 같은 반점이 생긴다. 《직지》

The external symptoms include fright palpitations, headaches, spasms, chills, pain and stiffness in the limbs, alternating chills and fever, and reddish black discoloration and spots like a marble on the cheeks and tongue. 《直指》

4 或不痛痒, 只麻木寒熱, 眼中流火, 牙關緊急, 時時驚惕, 甚則嘔吐. 諸證中嘔吐最危 以鍼刺瘡不痛無血, 是其候也. 又中陷如釘盖, 撼之有根, 是疔也. 《精義》

아프거나 가렵지 않고 단지 마목이 되며, 한열이 있고 눈 속에 불이 다니는 것 같으며, 이를 악물고 수시로 놀라며, 두려워한다. 심하면 구토한다. 모든 증상 중 구토가 가장 위험하다 침으로 창을 찔러도 아프지 않고 피나지 않는 것이 그 징후이다. 또, 못대가리처럼 가운데가 꺼지고 만져 보면 뿌리가 있는 것이 정이다. 《정의》

It doesn't cause pain or itching but causes numbness, cold and heat, fire roaming in the eyes, clenched teeth, and fright and fear. When it is severe, one vomits. 《精義》

1.10.2 疔疽治法

정저의 치료법

Treatments Methods for Firm Cellulitis

1 凡疔瘡毒氣, 攻心欲死, 以鍼刺瘡心. 若覺痛有血, 下錠子. 若累刺至心側, 皆不痛無血者, 急刺百會穴. 痛有血者, 下鋌子, 若無血, 以親人熱血代之, 猶活三四. 宜用迴瘡錠子ㆍ碧霞錠子ㆍ迴瘡蟾酥錠子. 《精義》

정창의 독기가 심(心)을 공격하여 죽을 것 같을 때는 침으로 창(瘡)의 중심을 찌른다. 통증이 있고 피가 나오면 정자(錠子)를 넣는다. 주변까지 여러 번 찔러도 모두 아프지 않고 피도 나지 않으면 급히 백회혈에 침을 놓아야 한다. 아프고 피가 나면 정자를 넣고, 피가 나지 않으면 가까운 사람의 뜨거운 피를 대신 넣어주는데, 10에 3～4명은 살릴 수 있다. 회창정자ㆍ벽하정자ㆍ회창섬수정자를 써야 한다. 《정의》

When toxic qi of furuncles (丁瘡) attacks the heart (心) and makes it fatal, pierce the center of the sore (瘡) with an acupuncture needle. When it causes pain and bleeding, insert a tablet. When it doesn't cause pain nor bleeding despite multiple prickings of the affected area and the area around it, perform acupuncture on GV20 at once. When it causes pain and bleeding, insert a tablet, and when it doesn't cause bleeding, insert warm blood of close friends and family instead. Upon doing so 3-4 out of ten are saved. A Reverse Sores Tablet, Green Jade and Rosy Clouds Tablet, or Reverse Sores Toad Venom Tablet must be administered. 《精義》

2 又法, 急以艾炷灸之, 鍼疔四邊, 皆令血出, 以迴瘡錠子絍之. 上用膏藥貼之, 因服五香連翹湯ㆍ千金漏蘆湯二方見上疏下之. 若鍼之不痛無血者, 以猛火燒鐵鍼通赤, 於瘡上烙之, 令如焦炭, 取痛爲效, 亦絍前錠子, 經一二日, 膿潰根出, 服托裏湯散, 以取平復. 《精義》

또, 급히 쑥뜸을 뜨고 정창의 주변에 침을 찔러 피를 뺀 후에 회창정자를 넣는다. 그 위에 고약을 붙이고, 오향연교탕ㆍ천금누로탕두 처방은 앞에 나온다으로 소통시켜 설사시킨다. 침을 찔러도 아프지 않고 피가 나지 않으면 센 불에 쇠침을 온통 벌겋게 달구어 창을 검게 탈 때까지 지진다. 아프도록 지지면 효과가 있다. 또, 앞의 정자를 넣고 1～2일이 지나면 고름이 터지고 뿌리가 나온다. 이 때 탁리(托裏)시키는 탕약이나 산제를 복용하면 낫는다. 《정의》

Also, perform moxibustion at once, pierce the area around the furuncle (丁瘡) with an acupuncture needle to induce bleeding and insert a Reverse Sores Tablet. Apply plaster on it, unblock and purge with a Five Aromas and Forsythia Decoction or Worth a Thousand Pieces of Gold Globe Thistle Decoction. Both prescriptions are mentioned earlier in the chapter. When pain and bleeding does not occur after piercing with an acupuncture needle, heat an iron needle over a strong fire until it turns red and sear the sore until it burns black. It is effective if pain is triggered. Also, insert the tablet mentioned above, and after 1-2 days, pus ruptures and the root is eradicated. At this time, take a decoction or powder preparation that expels toxins from within the body (托裏) to cure. 《精義》

3 治法, 急用飛龍奪命丹, 或雄黃丸下之, 去其毒熱, 次服化毒丸, 及二活散. 《正傳》

정저(疔疽)를 치료할 때는 급히 비룡탈명단이나 웅황환으로 설사시켜 열독을 제거한 후에 화독환이나 이활산을 복용한다. 《정전》

To treat firm cellulitis (疔疽), purge with a Flying Dragon Seize Life Elixir or Realgar Pill to remove heat toxins, and take a Dissolve Toxicity Pill or Notopterygium and Pubescent Angelica Powder. 《正傳》

4 實者, 初服賽命丹方見上三丸, 以葱酒發表, 虛者, 服保生錠子, 以解毒. 《入門》

실할 때는 처음에 새명단처방은 앞에 나온다 3알을 총주(葱酒)에 먹어 발산하고, 허할 때는 보생정자를 먹어서 해독한다. 《입문》

When it is an excessive pattern, disperse with 3 pills of a Offer Life Elixir the prescription is mentioned earlier in the chapter with Allii Fistulosi Bulbus Vinum (葱酒), and when it is deficient, take a Preserve Growth Tablet to detoxify. 《入門》

5 通治, 紫金錠ㆍ返魂丹ㆍ一捻金ㆍ神效奪命丹ㆍ蟾酥丸ㆍ獨蟾丸ㆍ五聖湯ㆍ還魂散ㆍ千金消毒散, 選用.

정저를 두루 치료할 때는 자금정ㆍ반혼단ㆍ일념금ㆍ신효탈명단ㆍ섬수환ㆍ독섬환ㆍ오성탕ㆍ환혼산ㆍ천금소독산을 골라 쓴다.

To treat firm cellulitis, administer a Purple Gold Tablet, Revive Spirit Elixir, A Twist of the Fingers Gold, Miraculously Effective Seize Life Powder, Toad Venom Pill, Unaccompanied Single Toad Pill, Five Sages Decoction, Soul Return Powder, or Worth a Thousand Pieces of Gold Eliminate Toxicity Powder.

1.10.3 紅絲疔

홍사정

Red Thready Boils

1 疔瘡, 或有 一條如紅線, 直上倉卒之際. 急用鍼於紅線所至處, 刺出毒血, 然後以蟾酥, 乳香等膏, 於正瘡內塗之, 鍼時, 以病者知痛出血爲好. 否則紅線入腹, 必致危殆. 《綱目》

정창에 한 줄기 붉은 선이 있다가 갑자기 위로 올라올 때가 있다. 급히 붉은 선이 이르는 곳에 침을 찔러 독혈(毒血)을 뺀 후에 섬수나 유향으로 만든 고약을 창(瘡) 속에 바른다. 침을 찌를 때 환자가 아프고 피가 나오면 좋다. 그렇지 않고 붉은 선이 배로 들어가면 반드시 위태로워진다. 《강목》

In furuncles (丁瘡), a red line sometimes forms and goes upward suddenly. Pierce the red line with an acupuncture needle to remove toxic blood and apply plaster made of Bufonis Venenum (蟾酥) or Olibanum (乳香) on the sore. When piercing with an acupuncture needle, if there is pain and bleeding, it is effective. But if the red line enters the abdomen, it is surely fatal. 《綱目》

2 疔生兩足, 多有紅絲至臍, 疔生兩手, 多有紅絲至心, 疔生面部, 多有紅絲入喉者, 俱難治. 急鍼其絲出血, 以泄其毒, 方可保生. 《入門》

정저가 양 발에 생기면 대부분 붉은 선이 배꼽까지 이르고, 정저가 양 손에 생기면 대부분 붉은 선이 심장에 이르며, 정저가 얼굴에 생기면 대부분 선이 목구멍에 이른다. 이것들은 모두 치료하기 어렵다. 이 때 급히 붉은 선에 침을 찔러 피를 뽑아 독기를 빼내면 목숨을 보전할 수 있다. 《입문》

When firm cellulitis occurs on both feet, the red line often reaches the umbilicus; when firm cellulitis occurs on both hands, the red line reaches the heart, and when firm cellulitis occurs on the face, the line often reaches the throat. All these are difficult to treat. At this time, pierce the red line with an acupuncture needle to induce bleeding and let out toxic qi, and one can survive. 《入門》

1.10.4 魚臍疔

어제정

Cutaneous Anthrax

1 又有一種, 瘡頭黑深, 形如魚臍, 破之滲出黃水, 四畔浮漿, 謂之魚臍疔, 其毒尤甚. 絲瓜葉, 連鬚葱白, 韭葉 各等分, 硏搗如泥取汁, 以酒和服. 其滓貼腋下, 如病在左手貼左腋下, 在右手貼右腋下, 在左脚貼左胯, 在右脚貼右胯, 在身中貼心臍. 幷以帛縛住, 候肉下紅絲皆白則安矣. 或蛇退燒灰, 雞子淸調付, 內服神仙解毒丸. 《丹心》

정저의 일종이다. 창두(瘡頭)가 검고 깊게 들어가서 물고기 배꼽과 같으며, 터뜨리면 누런 물이 새어 나오고 주위가 들뜨면서 물이 차 있는 것을 어제정이라고 한다. 이것은 독이 더욱 심하다. 수세미잎ㆍ뿌리가 달린 총백ㆍ부추잎을 모두 같은 양으로 질게 갈고 짓찧어 즙을 내어 술에 타서 먹는다. 그 찌꺼기는 겨드랑이에 붙이는데, 병이 왼팔에 있으면 왼쪽 겨드랑이에 붙이고 오른팔에 있으면 오른쪽 겨드랑이에 붙이며, 왼쪽 다리에 있으면 왼쪽 사타구니에 붙이고 오른쪽 다리에 있으면 오른쪽 사타구니에 붙이며, 몸의 중심에 있으면 가슴이나 배꼽에 붙인다. 그리고 비단으로 묶어 고정하는데, 살 밑에 있던 붉은 선이 모두 하얗게 변하면 낫는다. 혹 사퇴를 태운 재를 달걀 흰자에 개어 붙이고, 신선해독환을 복용한다. 《단심》

t is a kind of firm cellulitis. In cutaneous anthrax, the protrusion of the sore (瘡頭) is black and sunken deeply, and resembles the umbilicus of a fish. Yellow water comes out when it bursts, the surroundings become flaky, and it is filled with water. It has more severe toxin. Grind equal amounts of the leaves of Lufa cylindrica, Allii Fistulosi Bulbus (葱白) (with root intact), and garlic chives into rough powder, pound to extract juice, and take with alcohol. Apply the residue on the left armpit when it is on the left upper limb, on the right armpit when it is on the right upper limb, on the left groin when it is on the left lower limb, on the right groin when it is on the right lower limb, and on the chest or umbilicus when it is on the center of the body. Secure with silk, and if the red line under the flesh turns white, it is cured. Also mix ashes of Serpentis Periostracum (蛇退) with egg whites to apply and take an Immortal Resolve Toxicity Pill. 《丹心》

1.10.5 脫疽疔

탈저정

Digital Gangrene Boil

1 內經曰, 膏粱之變, 足生大疔. 盖因膏粱酒色, 蘊積惡毒, 或久患消渴之餘, 多有此瘡. 靈樞經所謂, 發於足傍, 名曰厲疽. 發於足指, 名曰脫疽. 其狀赤黑者, 死不治. 治不衰, 急斬之, 否則死, 正謂此也. 謂之脫疽, 以其指節潰爛脫去也. 《入門》

《내경(內經)》에, "기름진 음식이 변하면 발에 대정(大疔)이 생긴다"고 하였다. 기름진 음식과 주색으로 독이 쌓이거나 소갈을 오래 앓은 후에 대부분 이러한 창이 생긴다. 《영추경》에서 말한 '발 옆에 생긴 것을 여저(厲疽)라고 하고, 발가락에 생긴 것을 탈저(脫疽)라고 한다. 그 모양이 검붉게 되면 치료하지 못하고 죽는다. 치료해도 병세가 쇠하지 않으면 급히 잘라내어야 하니, 그렇게 하지 않으면 죽는다'고 한 것이 바로 이것을 말하는 것이다. 이것을 탈저라고 하는 이유는 발가락 관절이 터지고 짓물러지면서 떨어져 나가기 때문이다. 《입문》

In the Inner Classic (內經), it is said, "Greasy food develops into large deep-rooted boils (大疔) on the foot." After toxins have accumulated due to greasy food, alcohol, and sexual activities or one has had wasting-thirst for a long time, these sores often occur. This is the one mentioned in the Divine Pivot (靈樞) 'One on the side of the foot is called an erious abscess (厲疽), one in the toes is called gangrene (脫疽). When it turns reddish black, it cannot be treated and one dies. When treatment seems to be ineffective, cut at once, or else one dies.' The reason it is called gangrene is that the joints of the toes burst and fester and seperate. 《入門》

2 輕者, 色赤自潰, 先用隔蒜灸, 內服仙方活命飮方見上ㆍ還魂散. 重者, 色黯不痛, 先用隔蒜灸, 更服賽命丹方見上, 及補藥, 庶可保生.

가벼운 것은 벌겋고 저절로 터지는데, 먼저 격산구를 쓰고 선방활명음처방은 앞에 나온다ㆍ환혼산을 복용한다. 중한 것은 검고 아프지 않는데, 먼저 격산구를 쓰고 새명단처방은 앞에 나온다이나 보약을 쓰면 목숨을 보전할 수 있다.

In mild cases, when it is red and bursts by itself, use moxibustion on garlic first and take an Immortals' Prescription That Saves Lives Drink the prescription is mentioned earlier in the chapter, Soul Return Powder. In severe cases, it is black and doesn't cause pain, use moxibustion on garlic first and take Offer Life Elixir the prescription is mentioned earlier in the chapter or tonifying-medicinal, and one can survive.

3 甚者, 赤變爲黑, 急須在指則斬, 在肉則割. 否則黑延上足必死. 外治用桐油, 及無名異煎一沸, 入川椒一勺, 看瘡大小, 剪蓼葉在內同煎, 浸七日後, 單以此葉, 貼瘡上卽安. 《入門》

심하면 벌건 것이 검게 변한다. 급히 발가락에 있으면 자르고 살에 있으면 살을 잘라내어야 한다. 그렇게 하지 않으면 검은 것이 발로 올라가서 반드시 죽는다. 겉에는 오동나무기름과 무명이를 1번 끓어오르게 달여서 천초 1국자를 넣은 후에 창의 크기를 봐서 여뀌잎을 잘라 넣어 함께 달이고 7일 동안 담갔다가 이 잎만 창에 붙이면 낫는다. 《입문》

When it is severe, the red one changes into black. When it is on the toe, cut at once, and when it is in the flesh, cut the flesh. Otherwise, the black one goes up to the foot and one will surely die. Boil oil of Paulownia coreana Uyeki and Pyrolusitum (無名異) until it boils once, add a scoop of Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (川椒), put the leaves of water pepper (cut according to the size of sore), and apply the leaf on the sore to cure. 《入門》

1.10.6 一方 방제

또 다른 처방

A Prescription

1 治疔疽, 危篤二服卽愈, 輕者一服效. 土蜂房一窠, 蛇蛻(全者) 一條. 右盛器中, 黃泥固濟, 火煆存性爲細末, 每一錢, 空心, 好酒調服, 少頃腹中大痛, 痛止而其瘡已化爲黃水矣. 因服五聖湯. 《瑞竹》

정저를 치료한다. 위독할 때는 2번 복용하면 낫고 가벼울 때는 1번 복용하면 낫는다. 땅벌집 1개, 사퇴(온전한 것을 쓴다) 1개를 그릇에 담고 누런 진흙으로 단단히 붙인 후에 약성이 남게 불에 달구고 곱게 가루 낸다. 1돈씩 좋은 술로 타서 빈속에 먹으면 조금 지나 뱃속이 크게 아프고 통증이 멎으면서 창이 녹아 누런 물이 나온다. 이렇게 된 후에 오성탕을 먹는다. 《서죽》

Treats firm cellulitis. When it is severe, it is cured upon taking two doses and when it is mild, it is cured upon taking one dose. Put 1 digger wasp comb, and 1 Serpentis Periostracum (蛇退) (intact) in a bowl, secure it with yellow clay, burn it until the medicinal effects are still intact, and grind into powder. Take 1 don with fine liquor on an empty stomach, and before long one has severe abdominal pain, the sore melts and yellow water comes out as the pain stops. After this, take a Five Sages Decoction. 《瑞竹》

1.10.7 疔疽死證

정저의 사증

The Deadly Symptoms of Firm Cellulitis

1 疔瘡, 含蓄毒氣, 突出寸許, 痛痒異常, 一二日間, 害人甚速, 是尤在癰疽之上也. 《直指》

정창이 독기를 품은 채로 1촌 남짓 튀어나오고 평소와 다르게 아프고 가려우면 1～2일 사이에 사람을 급히 해칠 수 있으니 옹저보다 더 위험한 것이다. 《직지》

If a furuncle (丁瘡) protrudes about 1 chon bearing toxic qi to cause pain and itching, it could damage a person in 1-2 days. This is more fatal than an abscess and carbuncle (癰疽). 《直指》

2 疔毒入心, 則口乾煩悶, 恍惚似醉, 嘔吐不定, 危證也. 萬病解毒丹卽紫金錠也, 以黃連ㆍ當歸煎湯化下. 或賽命丹, 淵然眞人奪命丹皆可服. 《入門》

정독이 심(心)으로 들어가면 입이 마르고 답답하며, 취한 것처럼 정신이 없고 구토가 진정되지 않는다. 이것은 위증이다. 만병해독단곧 자금정이다을 황련과 당귀를 달인 물에 먹는다. 혹 새명단과 연연진인탈명단을 먹을 수도 있다. 《입문》

If a severe furuncle (疔毒) enters the heart (心), the mouth becomes dry and oppressive, the patient becomes drowsy like a drunken person, and vomiting doesn't stop. It is a fatal symptom. Take a Resolve Toxicity of Ten Thousand Diseases Elixir it is a Purple Gold Tablet with a decoction of Coptidis Rhizoma (黃連) and Angelica Gigantis Radix (當歸). Or take a Offer Life Elixir and Profound or Correct and Genuine Elixir to Seize Life.《入門》

3 疔毒入心腹, 則煩悶嘔逆, 恍惚癡眠, 其斃可立待也. 《直指》

정독이 명치 부위로 들어가면 답답하고 구역질이 나며, 정신이 없고 멍하게 잠만 잔다. 어쩔 수 없이 죽는다. 《직지》

If the severe furuncle (疔毒) enters the pit of the stomach, it causes oppression, vomiting, drowsiness, and sleep. The patient will die. 《直指》

4 疔瘡走黃過心者, 難治. 若太重則嘔逆, 嘔逆者難治. 姑用乳粉托裏散方見下止之. 《三因》

정창으로 누렇게 변하는 것이 심장을 넘어가면 치료하기 어렵다. 너무 중하면 구역질을 하는데, 구역질을 하면 치료하기 어렵다. 우선 유분탁리산처방은 뒤에 나온다으로 멎게 해야 한다. 《삼인》

If yellow discoloration due to the furuncle (丁瘡) passes to the heart, it is difficult to treat. If it is too severe, the patient vomits, and if the patient vomits, it is difficult to treat. Administer Frankincense Powder for Internal Support The prescription is mentioned later to stop it.《三因》

5 疔疽, 出冷汗者死. 《三因》

정저로 냉한(冷汗)이 나오면 죽는다. 《삼인》

사람이 갑자기 죽는 것은 정독으로 인한 것이 많다. 이 때 급히 등불로 온몸을 비추어 작은 창이 있으면 급히 뜸을 뜨고 새명단을 먹으면 소생할 때도 있다. 《입문》

If the patient dies suddenly, it is because of the severe furuncle (疔毒). Quickly shine light on the body and if even a small sore is observed, apply moxibustion at once and take a Offer Life Elixir, and the patient sometimes survives. 《入門》

How to Eradicate Furuncles

1 疔瘡有毒根在內, 須拔去乃可救. 黑牯牛牽於石上必撤糞, 候糞上生菌, 取焙乾, 與𦻎薟草葉等分 爲末, 用竹筒兩頭去節, 套在疔上, 陷入肉內, 以線緊縛, 取藥末一匙滴水和之, 放於筒內. 少時藥滾起則疔自拔起, 未效則漸加度數, 其疔必拔, 拔去後, 以金銀白芷散調之. 《正傳》

정창에 독의 뿌리가 속에 있으면 반드시 제거해야 살릴 수 있다. 검은 암소를 바위 위로 끌고 가서 똥을 모은다. 똥 위에 버섯이 생기면 불에 쬐어 말린 후 희첨의 잎과 함께 같은 양으로 하여 가루 낸다. 양끝의 마디를 자른 대나무 관을 정창 위에 씌우고 살 속으로 넣어서 끈으로 단단하게 묶은 후에 약 가루 1숟가락을 물에 타서 대나무 관에 넣는다. 잠시 기다리면 약이 끓어오르면서 정창이 저절로 빠진다. 효과가 없을 경우 점점 횟수와 양을 늘리면 정창이 반드시 빠진다. 빠진 후에 금은백지산으로 조리한다. 《정전》

If the root of the toxin in a furuncle (丁瘡) is in the interior, it must be removed to save the patient. Draw a black cow to a rock and gather its feces. If mushrooms grow on the feces, dry the mushrooms over fire and grind into powder with equal amounts of Siegesbeckia Herba (稀薟). Prepare a bamboo pipe from which joints of both ends are removed, put it on furuncle (丁瘡), insert into the flesh, tie with string tightly, and inject a spoonful of medicinal with water into the pipe. After a while, the furuncle (丁瘡) is removed naturally as the medicinals boil. In the case it has no effect, increase the frequency and amount gradually, and the furuncle (丁瘡) must be removed. After it is removed, care for the area with Lonicerae Flos and Angelica Root Powder. 《正傳》

2 宜用迴瘡錠子, 或保生錠子ㆍ四聖旋疔散, 拔去疔根, 調治. 《精義》

정창을 뺄 때는 회창정자를 쓰거나, 보생정자ㆍ사성선정산으로 정창의 뿌리를 뽑아내고 조리한다. 《정의》

To remove a furuncle (丁瘡), administer a Reverse Sores Tablet or Preserve Growth Tablet or Four Sages Reverse Boils Powder to eradicate a furuncle (丁瘡) and take care of the area. 《精義》

3 蒼耳莖葉, 燒灰醋調, 塗疔上, 乾則易, 不過十度, 卽根出. 和雄黃尤妙. 《本草》

도꼬마리의 줄기와 잎을 태운 재를 식초에 개어 정창에 바른다. 마르면 갈아주는데, 10번 안에 뿌리가 나온다. 여기에 웅황을 섞으면 더욱 효과가 있다. 《본초》

Mix ashes stems and leaves of a Rough Cocklebur with vinegar to apply on a furuncle (丁瘡). When it dries, change it and the root comes out in 10 times. Mix Realgar (雄黃) with this, and it is more effective. 《本草》

4 蟬蛻ㆍ白殭蚕, 爲末醋調, 留瘡口, 塗四圍, 竢疔根出拔去. 《綱目》

선퇴ㆍ백강잠을 가루내고 식초에 개어 창구(瘡口)는 남기고 그 주위에 바른다. 정창의 뿌리가 나오면 뽑아낸다. 《강목》

Grind Cicadidae Periostracum (蟬退) and Batryticatus Bombyx (白殭蚕) into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply around the opening of the sore (瘡口). When the root of furuncle (丁瘡) comes out, take it out. 《綱目》

5 蜣蜋, 安濃米泔小盞中, 以火逼之, 蟲熱喫泔, 及困死. 取腦中白肉, 新瓦上焙爲末, 熱酒調 二錢服, 仍以少許, 塗疔上根自出. 《資生》

말똥구리를 진한 쌀뜨물이 담긴 작은 잔에 넣고 불로 괴롭히면 말똥구리가 뜨거워 쌀뜨물을 먹다가 지쳐 죽는다. 말똥구리의 뇌 속에 있는 흰 살을 새 기와에 놓고 불에 쬐어 가루를 내어 뜨거운 술에 2돈씩 타서 먹고, 이어 조금씩 정창에 바르면 뿌리가 저절로 나온다. 《자생》

Put Gymnopleurus mopsus in a small cup filled with thick water previously used to wash rice, agitate it with fire, and when the Gymnopleurus mopsus feels hot, it will drink the water previously used to wash rice with, and will exhaust to death. Put the white flesh from the brain of Gymnopleurus mopsus on a newly made root tile, heat over a fire, grind into powder, take 2 dons with hot alcohol, apply a little on the furuncle (丁瘡), and the root comes out naturally. 《資生》

6 一云, 蜣蜋, 於心腹下度取之其肉稍白, 貼疔上, 根出卽愈. 《本草》

혹은 말똥구리의 명치 밑에 있는 약간 흰 살을 정창에 붙이면 뿌리가 나오고 곧 낫는다. 《본초》

Conversely, apply the whitish flesh under the pit of the stomach of Gymnopleurus mopsus on the furuncle (丁瘡), and the root comes out and it is cured at once. 《本草》

7 斑猫 一枚捻破, 以鍼刺疔上, 封之, 根卽出.

반묘 1마리를 비틀어 부스러뜨리고, 침으로 정창을 찔러서 그 위에 덮으면 뿌리가 나온다.

Grate a Mylabris (斑猫), pierce the furuncle (丁瘡) with acupuncture, place the Mylabris (斑猫) on the furuncle (丁瘡), and the root comes out.

8 取黑虱 十枚, 置疔上, 以荻箔繩作炷, 灸虱上卽根出.

흑슬 10마리를 잡아 정창 위에 놓고, 물억새로 만든 줄로 심지를 만들어 흑슬 위에 놓고 뜸을 뜨면 뿌리가 빠진다.

Place 10 Pediculus (黑虱) on the furuncle (丁瘡), make wicks with strings made from a common reed, put it on Pediculus (黑虱), perfrom a moxibustion, and the root is removed.

9 白狗屎燒存性, 和酒服, 又塗疔上, 根自出.

흰 개의 똥을 약성이 남게 태워 술에 타서 먹고 정창에 바르면 뿌리가 저절로 빠진다.

Burn the feces of a white dog with the medicinal effects intact, take with alcohol, apply on the furuncle (丁瘡), and the root is removed naturally.

10 苦苣取莖中白汁, 塗疔上出根.

고거(苦苣)의 줄기에 있는 흰 즙을 정창에 바르면 뿌리가 나온다.

Apply the white juice in the stem of Kitam (苦苣) on the furuncle (丁瘡), and the root comes out.

11 馬齒莧和梳垢爛搗, 封疔上根出. 《本草》

마치현을 빗에 있는 때와 짓찧어서 정창을 덮으면 뿌리가 나온다. 《본초》

Pound Portulacae Herba (馬齒莧) with dirt in a comb to cover the furuncle (丁瘡), and the root comes out. 《本草》

역병으로 죽은 소나 말이나 짐승의 고기를 먹으면 정창이 생긴다

Eating Meat of Cows or Horses That Have Died of Epidemics Causes Furuncles

1 近見患疔者, 皆是食自死牛馬禽獸之肉而生此疾, 十患十死. 宜急取紫金錠半錠, 淡酒化下, 重者服一錠, 外用涼水磨塗疔上, 日夜各數次, 或吐或利神效.

요즘 정창을 앓는 사람을 보면 모두 저절로 죽은 소나 말이나 짐승의 고기를 먹어서 이 병이 생기는데, 열이면 열 모두 죽는다. 급히 자금정 반 개를 순한 술에 녹여 먹는다. 중하면 1개를 먹고, 겉에는 이것을 찬물에 갈아서 정창에 바른다. 이것을 밤낮으로 각각 몇 번씩 하면 토하거나 설사하는데 신효하다.

Those who have furuncles (丁瘡) these days had meat of naturally dead cows, horses, or beasts and thus when this disease occurs, ten out of ten die. Take half a Purple Gold Tablet with light alcohol at once. When it is severe, take one and grind it with cold water and apply on the furuncle (丁瘡). When it is done several times night and day, one vomits or has diarrhea, which is miraculously effective.

2 白頸蚯蚓 八九條擂爛, 和酒濾去滓飮之, 其滓塗疔四圍留頭, 出毒氣.

환대가 흰 지렁이 8～9개를 짓찧어서 술에 탄 후에 찌꺼기를 걸러 마신다. 그 찌꺼기를 정창의 꼭지는 빼고 주위에만 바르면 독기가 빠진다.

Pound 8-9 Lumbricus (蚯蚓) with a white clitellum, mix with alcohol, remove the residue, and drink it. Apply the residue around the protrusion, and toxic qi is removed.

3 大蜘蛛 一箇放疔上, 自咂其毒, 連易 三五箇, 其毒自敗. 以蜘蛛入水, 不傷蛛命, 又兼用蜞鍼法. 方見下《種杏》

큰 거머리 1마리를 정창에 놔두면 스스로 그 독을 빨아먹는 데, 계속하여 3～5마리를 바꾸어 주면 독이 저절로 없어진다. 이후에 거머리를 다시 물에 넣으면 죽지 않는다. 또, 기침법(蜞鍼法)그 방법은 뒤에 나온다을 함께 쓴다. 《종행》

Put a big Hirudo (水蛭) on the furuncle (丁瘡), and it sucks up the toxin. Repeat with 3-5 Hirudo, and the toxin is removed naturally. Put Hirudo (水蛭) in the water again afterwards, so that it doesn't die. Also, let leeches draw the affected area (蜞鍼法). The method is mentioned later in the chapter. 《種杏》

Purple Gold Tablet

1 一名萬病解毒丹, 治癰疽發背, 諸腫, 諸瘤, 疔瘡ㆍ惡瘡, 一切腫毒. 方見解毒 每取半錠, 淡酒化下, 重者一錠, 外以涼水調塗患處, 一日數次卽效. 惟已潰, 出膿血者, 忌服. 《入門》

일명 만병해독단이다. 옹저발배나 여러 가지 종기, 여러 가지 혹, 정창ㆍ악창 같은 모든 종독을 치료한다. 처방은 해독문에 나온다 반 개씩 순한 술에 타서 먹는다. 중하면 1개를 먹고, 겉에는 찬물로 개어 환부에 붙인다. 하루에 몇 번 하면 효과가 있다. 이미 터져서 피고름이 나올 때는 먹으면 안 된다. 《입문》
